Once Christians tie their faith to partisan politics they eventually have to defend the indefensible.

Pledge all your allegiance to Jesus Christ and let the politicians fend for themselves.

It's sad to read that Anne Burrell's death has been ruled a suicide.

I'm not sure why but I hate this bit with the announcers talking to the pitcher and catcher during the game.

NYT: As Floods Hit, Key Roles Were Vacant at Weather Service Offices in Texas--Staff shortages might have complicated forecasters’ ability to coordinate responses

Staff vacancy rates have nearly doubled since Trump took office. Those poor children harmed by needless cuts of this admin through DOGE.

I've never been a Dodgers fan, but I've always been an admirer of Clayton Kershaw, from those early days of Vin Scully calling dominant, perfect pitching to watching Kershaw achieve a beautiful, elite achievement tonight. Way to go! #Kershaw #3000k

Segregation was never just separate facilities
It was paying more & getting less in your neighborhood
It was getting the Phd, but still not getting hired
It was needing police for the police
It was building up a newspaper & having it burned (Wells)
It was building a school & having it shot up (JSU)

Really good game on @espn.com . Also, enjoyed the inning featuring Francisco Lindor and wife Katia. They seem like a great couple and family! #Mets

I enjoyed using Skype to put together two podcasts over the past 10 years. I'm not sure why it couldn't adapt to changing times, but it's too bad for an app with so much name recognition.
Skype has officially shut down after 22 years

Watching the John Adams series again after about 15 years. It's a nice jolt for the values of liberty and freedom and the breaking away from a tyrant/king. Also, great performances by Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti. #HBO

As we experience this tearing down of democratic institutions, I'm reminded of this quote by Manuel Agosin: "Capitalism without #democracy usually favors corruption and control over resources through means other than merit, such as party loyalty."

Happy birthday to my first book, Judas Goat 🎀

She pairs well with Kristeva’s Powers of Horror, the oeuvre of Brigit Pegeen Kelly, growing up religious, death thoughts, tenderness despite, the long horizontal pupils of prey animals, and holding on close to your dog.
