ABC News Melbourne unwatchable now as the quasi Victorian Opposition. I forget and sometimes watch only to turn off in disgust as their bias once again on display. Dreadful

So the whole thing was nothing, but we got a full moral panic and more repressive anti-protest and anti-free speech laws anyway.

The oldest Robodebt proverb: the junior staffers were always right
Public pressure paved the way for the reconsideration of the NACC's appalling original decision.

Does make one wonder about how many other non-investigations the NACC may have got wrong.

A shout-out to the junior NACC officer who recommended investigating the #Robotdebt6 but got overruled.

God, the ABC News app is a mess, a dog’s breakfast. I don’t want live blogs and acres of analysis, and twee little introductions from the next hack on the shift. Just some straight news stories. Can’t be too hard, surely.

It'd be so easy for Australian politicians to pass motions condemning all forms of racism - but instead they're passing motions decrying one form race hate (anti-semitism) while tacitly supporting the colonial slaughter of Palestinians. It tells us so much about who we are.

Mundine loses Liberal preselection.

His pitch?

Bradfield not a “teal seat” with voters who could afford “luxury beliefs”.

That’s this Warren Mundine (ICYMI):

This is *not* the ‘new normal’. Things will get worse.

because politics is too important to leave to coal executives like those charming fellows from ‘coal australia’ and their astroturf LNP campaigners.

I need someone to explain to me why it’s always “if you can’t pay rent, buy fewer lattes and avocado toasts” and not “if you can’t pay your employees a living wage, buy fewer yachts and real estate”.

Explain it to me like I’m in kindergarten.

under the coalition's plan millions fewer homes will install solar and existing household solar systems will be frequently switched off to ensure his nuclear plants hit their production targets.
