This process felt entirely overcomplicated and I'm sure it could have gone easier. I feel like I did brain surgery with a scalpel, a chainsaw and some electrical tape.

Then after a lot of rope pulling I manually edited the grub.cfg in the boot folder. That was a bad no-no. So I had to revert that lol.

Just tried to add my global dithering shader on top of this. But unfortunately shaders that use depth textures and screen textures don't mix well 😆

Guess I'll have to be patient and wait for #godot 4.6 a bit:
