For those that are curious, here is a my works in "progress".

Moments In Time And Space: A micro fiction podcast of horror and suspense.

The Rise And Fall Of Mars: A book of poetry containing the history of Mars.

Untitled Horror Anthology: Ten tales from the podcast, made better.
Wrote two pages this weekend and it felt good. Thought it was back on the writing horse.

Wrote two pages tonight and they are trash. Back to running I should burn it all to the ground.

Am I an author now?

Part of being an author is agonizing for
weeks if it is proper and acceptable to make the grass on Mars purple and the trees blue.

It has been nearly a year since I had a chance to really write something. I would like to get back into it regularly but I hate to force myself. I did put out a quick opinion piece on the Rise And Fall of The Summer Blockbuster, which felt good. I guess I just need to take more baby steps.

I am still functioning; just not writing.

This work thing is great for giving my me money torque my hobbies, but apparently too much work cuts out hobby time.

I am always thinking about writing at least.

Hmmm. I was checking my slush pile of story ideas and I see “Clone family liquidated”.

Wish I knew what the hell inspired the prompt.

For the first time in months, I had a new story idea pop into my head.

"The teleportation bureau must deal with an incident where a traveller's brain pattern was damaged."

It goes into a commentary on capitalism as a supervisor tries to minimize financial damage to the company from the incident.

Embrace your imagination and let it tell you a story.

I like to leave a lot of my tales open ended as a way to leave people wanting more and I want the reader to imagine what happens next. I let them chose the ending... or endings if they keep revisiting the tale.

#HorrorWritersChat question 3:

What one thing would you like readers to take away from your horror work?
April 9, 2025 at 7:36 PM
You can’t write all the time, so I am out with the wife at the Ottawa Senators hockey game.
April 5, 2025 at 7:50 PM
With my horror writing, I am a total pantser and just let the words fall where I may.

With my Martian poetry book... I made an outline... and a plan. So the poems would all link together history wise.

What have I become?

Now is the time to support smaller presses to keep their doors open and keep as many voices in publishing.

Today is the first day on a long time I really felt the energy and drive to write.

I am going to take full advantage of it!

My name is Aaron and I write micro horror and speculative fiction for my own podcast.

My villain origin story would be someone telling me that “that’s not possible and could be dangerous” and I would prove them wrong while causing the end of the world on the process.

Since it is poetry month, I guess it would be a good time to work on my “The Rise and Fall of Mars” poetry book.

Inspired by David Bowie, the history of Mars and its civilization is captured in verse form.

Seemed kind of goofy when I started it, but now I am pretty excited about the idea.

This is it. Our new project.

It's called #iHunt: Dollars and Draculas. We posted a FREE/pay what you want, completely standalone adventure called Film Crew Vs. Dirtbag Dracula. You can play it with just the free basic D&D rules, and this book.

More in thread.

"The Hangman's Tree" is a story that I challenged myself to write with a lot of elements I don't normally in my writing. It was more to see if I could it & what would be the result. Overall, I was pretty happy to see how it came out. I don't know if it is a horror story, but it does have suspense.

Some of my my most disturbing characters are just human. The fear, for me, comes from thinking an ordinary person chooses willing to act in unspeakable ways and I cannot justify away their actions due to supernatural reasons.

"Oh, horror writers must wear all black and write in a dimly lit room with somber music playing."

I read this and adjusted my Avocado Toast Oodie while listening to my pug snore in concert to The Greatest Showman Soundtrack.

Finally, my treatment of "That's My Wookie!" may see the light of day.

CONCEPT: Lowbacca gets a job as an aid for a low level, clueless bureaucrat on Coruscant. It is up to him and his pal, Bobbi The Quarren, to help their boss do his job while finding themselves in whacky situations.
ANDOR creator Tony Gilroy says he hopes his show will inspire a Star Wars sit-com or horror movie.

“I always fantasised that the show would break new ground, that someone would be able to make a three-camera sitcom in Star Wars or a horror movie.”

Part of me wonders if I am cheating when I take my micro horror stories & flesh them out into short stories for an anthology.

Don't get me wrong: the micro format is loved my listeners and I can speed write, but fleshing them out is part editing & part adding value to someone who pays for my work.
