Well there's been an agreement and I'm not on strike anymore. I like to imagine that negotiations went like this (they absolutely did not, the union ended up having to negotiate with the employers' lawyers, but it is nice to imagine it went like this) youtu.be/QSlHXbHKp-0?...

Cyclist turns down trans exclusionary honour for woman cyclists (and you can feel the BBC’s teeth grinding about it).

"If they don't want to ride with all women, then it's not the kind of ride I want to be part of".
Woman refuses Cycling UK award over trans women being left out
Claire Sharpe says she disagrees with Cycling UK only naming biological women in their top 100 list.

Kate Beaton is a national treasure
I have been on media almost everywhere (locally) but here about this- let me give you an update about our work to protect a public park, an ecologically significant beach area, from being developed into a golf course.

The AI bubble may be about to bust.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

After working in tech, I suspect that there's a lot of companies and projects that never validated their core assumptions. They... didn't like it when I asked if they'd done any due diligence for projects, or if there was a use case or business plan, or if they'd even spoken to the users.
“We never validated our core assumptions” is in the running for tech quote of the decade
"We never validated our core assumptions before investing heavily in solutions. The truth is that gamers already had the solution to their problems, and they weren't going to switch platforms just because a new one was available," a former Amazon exec said earlier this year.

I spent two hours-ish working on responses to that survey on how should the Canadian government pursue AI industry development and I'm proud that I didn't stay things like "don't do this", "do you want to be scammed", or "what the hell is wrong with you people".

I did ask if a use case was done.

A science degree doesn't guarantee work either. I've got a CS degree, and learned to code before little Internet dweebs started using that as a cure-all for economic woes, and I spent two years looking for work in my field after a layoff.

This is just a first step in gutting education.
Badenoch and Co see education only as a means to a massive income in some soul destroying career.

Devoid of imagination and the power of knowledge they view life entirely through the prism of the CV.

My advice always is to study what interests you and the rest will follow
