i think the fun in aquascaping is doing maintenance, puttering around, rearranging things periodically, all that. It's a living art installation that you get to keep working on for as long as you'd like, and it doesn't have to be done unless you want it to be

i liked having a group of 6 before, but they all just slowly died over the course of a year. i wasnt sure about getting more bc of that, but man they are just such peaceful and pretty fish. every time i see them i want them again

oh nice thats great. i had a bunch of pearl gouramis a while back that i loved, and i want to get more, but im also considering a betta sorority in the tank. nice to know that i could possibly get both haha

is that two female bettas with the gouramis? how do they behave with each other? do they generally ignore each other or are there spats?

i knowww, it was just a tiny leak too. mostly it sucked for my friend because the thing was on carpet though

i also made a magnetic hide to make the empty height of the tank a little more usable for cowboy while the plants grow in. hopefully he fits through the opening lol

i am going to face my trepidation for glass cutting and try to salvage it, though. I want to try to shorten it, make a new base out of the cut glass, and convert it to a dart frog or day gecko tank

np, good luck with the tank!

this is a pretty big piece, so it will likely take weeks to sink naturally. boiling helps it sink faster, but it could still take days to weeks to sink. i recommend gluing or screwing it to some rocks. slate is easy to bury under the substrate of you dont want to see the rocks.

gorgeous!! the way you've trimmed the background plants is so clean and satisfying

i support you posting your art whenever you want to because its your account and you make the rules
October 29, 2025 at 4:29 AM
i mean you can just post it today, and reshare it on the 31st. theres no rule that says it has to be posted on your bday

i think a 150g tank with musk turtles and a tropical fish community would be the perfect addition to our home decor. id call it pleurodira-core

poison dart frogs. there are dozens of different species so you can pick a size that fits the tank, and a morph that you like. they eat flightless fruit flies, so you need to feed live, but they're a very chill live feeder imo.
