Is it me or is the New York Times actively trying to get Cuomo elected as mayor? #ZohranMamdani #NYTimes #NYCmayor

Don't even get me started on the problems with legacy media. This just scratches the surface.
My take on the consequences of the media's "original sin."

Anyone else out there finding it hard to trust the jobs report numbers - or any statistics - coming out of this administration?

I shall now attempt to avoid White Lotus spoilers for the next 12 hours. Wish me luck.

5 years ago THIS was what I was worrying about. Is it crazy to say I miss those days?

Why is no one raising a zillion alarms about the fact that Elon now has access to the government payment mechanisms? I'm assuming the next step will be to manually shut off those federal grant and loan payments? Will the Supreme Court intervene then? I feel like I'm being gaslit 24/7.

I'm trying so hard not to watch or read too much news this week, but...don't watch his reaction - and his family's reaction and especially his second-in-command's reaction - to Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde's sermon if you don't want to see clear evidence of how little he cares about certain Americans.

For the next 4 years, every time some new policy is enacted or a law is passed or a decision is made, we need to ask "Whom does this REALLY benefit?" Not "Whom do THEY say this benefits?" And if the answer isn't "ALL Americans" - or frankly "ALL humanity" - we need to do something about it.

Oligarchy actually means rule by a small number of people - with no mention of wealth - while autocracy means absolute rule by one person. Plutocracy describes government ruled by people of great wealth or income. #TheMoreYouKnow

Genuine question for any German speakers out there. Which of these is the better translation of "hellscape": Schreckensort or Höllenlandschaft?
