An important message from the ABA:

"We urge every attorney to join us and insist that our government, a government of the people, follow the law. It is part of the oath we took when we became lawyers. Whatever your political party ... change must be made in the right way. Americans expect no less."
The ABA supports the rule of law

If you’ve been affected by this pause — either as a government worker or as a health care professional — I’d love to hear from you.

Feel free to reply to this post or drop me an email — dan.diamond@washpost.com.
New: Trump officials have paused all external communications at health agencies like CDC, FDA, NIH.

No health alerts and the famed MMWRs; no updates to key websites or social media posts.

And no indication how long the pause will last.

Agreed, and it’s a well written article. In addition to access issues (an increasing concern), it seems undeniable that: shots have become a marker of parent identity/community affiliation; trust in science & professional guidance has dropped; & more people are pursuing use of broader exemptions.
This chart showing changes in the measles vaccination rates of the states from today’s NYT is bleak.

Trust in public health agencies has fallen and not recovered.

I asked Biden’s top health official what he thinks went wrong.

“I can’t go toe to toe with social media,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said.
