This could definitely explain why the Fediverse is likely to not take off.

Oh well, I love the Fediverse the way it is.

Just wished people would be more educated about federation, and would definitely be more awesome if more people showed up.
Huh. Just chatted in person with someone who's been on #mastodon for a while, now, who honestly thought that all the Mastodon domains were run by Mastodon. And having a different domain was, like, just a vanity thing to look cool. It only came up because they were complaining about an issue they […]

I absolutely love the recent advancements in battery tech. I have a 20Ah battery pack in my backpack all of the time now. That thing would have been so heavy just a few years ago ...

I used this tool to really help with setting the right colour palette in my Tailwind CSS theme to get dark mode working. I hope you find this useful as well. https://www.tints.dev/

I barely tolerate cynical comments.

That said, I still try to be compassionate towards people who express cynicism, because it often comes from a place of disappointment.

But if the cynicism expresses incorrect information, you're blocked. Cynicism sucks a lot of energy from me already […]

You know, in my mind, the concept of a milestone doesn't really need a deadline; it's just a goal post, and a fixed one at that.

The general idea is that if I clear out a bunch of GitHub issues to satisfy that milestone, then, well […]

There's been this growing trend of using Emojis in Git commits.

I always wondered if there are shortcuts people use.

Well, there's git `commit.template` that I just found out, today.

And then, there's Gitmoji.

I'll try writing commits in this pattern in a few days.

I added support for dark mode for the AI-assistant that I'm developing for Logseq.

Video on code maintainability. Lots of great ideas that I agree with.

00:00 Most "clean coding" advice is bad
01:24 "Clean Code" is trash
02:13 Thing like "Clean Code" only serve to create arguments
02:42 "Maintainable" is judged by people other than the programmer writing it

For a 1-man team, I don't see the value in using GitHub projects (or Linear, or anything like it).

Just stick to GitHub issues, and throwing things into milestones.
RE: https://techhub.social/@manlycoffee/115612217178056531

Today, I had this plugin be a part of what is known as a "reverse demo".

The idea is, rather than me demo what the product does, someone else demoes it pretending to be the person who created it.

This was a major milestone.

And I […]

Not sure if this is a feature in VS Code, but it is in Cursor: starting up a web server opens the web browser.

Not sure how I feel about this.

Maybe it's just me who is more acquainted to just hitting "CMD+Tab".

The 2022-2025 job market was run by people with the "Silicon Valley Tech Bro" mindset, who just wanted to ship fast; code quality be damned.

And now I'm hearing of 996-like work cultures being a thing with employers literally expecting […]
