Today is January 6th and no one is watching the Capitol be plundered, feces being smeared on the walls, and police officers being stabbed with American flags.

Why? Because one side believes in democracy no matter what, and the other side only believes in it only when they win.

I don't where this all ends up, but I don't think a democracy in which only one of the two major parties is committed to peaceful transition of power is particularly sustainable!

Jan 6th was a violent attack on our country, not a “day of love.” The truth is well documented, witnessed by dozens of GOP officials, it’s up to us to defend it against the relentless lies. My latest:

Finland is teaching children in school how to recognize fake news and propaganda as part of critical thinking and civic responsibility. Some of this will seem very familiar.

Outraged by the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, a wilderness survival trainer spent years undercover climbing the ranks of right-wing militias. He didn’t tell police or the FBI. He didn’t tell family or friends....

FACT: Unlawful border crossings are at a 4-year low.

The sad reality is, the overwhelming majority of Americans don't know there's a voter for the Speaker going on, don't care & won't be able to name him after the vote. This is what happens in a country where civics education is no longer universal. Its absence lets darkness settle in over democracy.

Exactly right.

The Supreme Court shrugs off physical assaults against Congress, while insisting that the slightest verbal criticism of the Court itself is just beyond the pale.
You can't write repeated permission slips for the incitement of violence against Congress for fulfilling *its* constitutional functions and then whine like this about protestors marching outside Alito's home.
