Writing and art has been a great outlet for me the past few weeks. Here's a draft of something I did yesterday.

Plain white text on a blank black background reads: Hope is a warm thing, Branching towards the open blue sky, unafraid and desperate– like young bright green leaves searching for that familiar, sweet sunlight. Hope is a tender thing, soft and malleable, like play doh in the hands of a small child. It molds itself to fill the empty nest with promises of return. Hope is a cruel thing. Sinking its teeth into the tender flesh of the unsuspecting, ripping open scars just to sear them shut again. It drives you to keep going, to keep pushing past boundaries that you didn't even know were there, up until the bittersweet end.

I just liked the way this looked.

Holy shit this sky
A sunset with several layers of clouds over it. There are some huge cumulonimbus clouds, dark with a storm, the edges of which are being lit up bright pink and orange. There are darker cumulus clouds in front, and bright blue skys behind and to the side.
