And imagine what we could do if we got rid of the fence? Look for that image update as well.
This simple but effective image speaks a thousand words. It represents the difference between equity and equality. Equal access versus equal opportunity. We must acknowledge that within our society, everyone is unique and has different needs. These needs require varying levels of help to be met.

Harvard says no. The world waits as other organizations, schools, etc, decide what they stand for.

Harvard said “No” to Trump's administration as concerns about the federal funds being cut keep rising.Harvard surprised many people when the news came out, however it was the act of hope we needed.
Why Harvard Decided to Fight Trump

South Africa has officially banned all American businesses from operating within its borders and halted mineral exports to the U.S.
This decision comes just days after Donald Trump announced a complete withdrawal of U.S. funding and USAID support to South Africa. #SouthAfrica 🇿🇦

The Mare by Angharad Hampshire has very quickly become our most successful book.

A haunting and powerful true story about the reality of Nazi propaganda and the radicalisation of average people.

Have you read Hermine Braunsteiner's story yet?

I am so excited to read this book together in our class. I so love the title. I really love the intersection of science and social science.
Later this semester, Be the Change will read Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals, an (incredible) book by the visionary writer Dr. Alexis Pauline Gumbs -- check out Gumbs' recent talk on institutional divestment and solidarity work here:

As we explore the concept of change, we have the opportunity to ask questions and investigate. How do we try to push for change? How does Christianity as a religion support/avoid change? How can change be scary? See the words of Bishop Budde and think about "change" as a fluid challenging concept.
Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde was nearing the end of her sermon for the inaugural prayer service on Tuesday when she took a breath and looked directly at President Trump.

“I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now,” said Bishop Budde. nyti.ms/4jtuyHA

This is yet another episode of our national soap opera: “Repubs can burn the country down, Dems need to be flawless.”
