May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. Trump’s administration plans to cut $1 billion in grants that fund key mental health services nationwide in school districts. Now is the time to advocate for solutions that ensure every student has access to the support they need to have a healthy life!
Education Department stops $1 billion in funding for school mental health
Congress created the grants in the aftermath of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. The goal was to help schools hire mental health professionals, including counselors and social workers.

After reading Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals by Alexis Pauline Gumbs and learning many new facts one quote planted seeds in me. Gumbs said "Unlearned to learn". These words hold the power to change in a society that has been thought to think, talk, and act like capitalists.
