Stop reposting this. It's wrong. The news out of Yosemite is horrific, but this is incorrect. (Former Yosemite ranger here, still connected to folks in the park.) About a dozen employees in Yosemite have lost their jobs. There are still approximately 400 employees in Yosemite.

Yesterday the Republican controlled Missouri Senate, Sen Stephen Webber (D-Boone County) introduced an amendment that would end the statutory ban on same sex marriage. Yes, MO still has a ban on same sex marriages. The amendment failed 6-19, with 9 Senators absent. #MoLeg

Any librarian with two brain cells to rub together (which is damn near all of them) know that the public library system as a whole is a natural enemy of the fascist. You either fight as a librarian or die unemployed because they hate everything that makes libraries so fucking important.

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests.

We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason.
