#337 Ellesmere Arm, Shropshire, 03/12/2025

Cold first thing but with a hint of cold in the air I decided to head off down the canal with the camera, the end of the arm was just getting the first of the sunlight.

This will be Barney in another month or so - #labradoodle - I remember the snow sticking to his fur last year.
❄️✨ Enough snow already!
Our fluffy golden doodle girl stepped outside for 5 minutes and returned looking like a walking snowball collection.
Nothing sticks to snow quite like doodle fur — she’s nature’s Velcro! Stay cozy, friends… may your snowballs be few and your zoomies be many. 🐶❤️⛄️#DogsOfBlueSky

There is a more effective way of destroying the business model of the smugglers and that is the creation of accessible routes that allow refugees fleeing persecution legally seeking asylum, to arrive safely and have their claims quickly assessed.
The Home Secretary’s sweeping new immigration plans have been praised by Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage.

We can't accept a system that exposes people to hostility and hatred.

Please ask your MP to choose compassion, not cruelty and oppose these harsh proposals

Nobody cares about a football team's third strip which is just a means to bring in some extra money for the club. Yet the #pars have based their strips on a Skids album and it seems that fans (of the club but also of the group) keep buying them with stock running out and more to be ordered - again!

Usman enjoying life on Gozo #malta second island.
Sunset over Marsalforn valley.
No wonder Odysseus stayed seven years here with Calypso in her caves above Ramla Bay!
Enchanted by her beauty & that of Gozo.
Home at last.

A new report from Shelter Scotland and CRER reveals systemic racism in our housing system: BPoC are more likely to become homeless, face unlawful refusals, and wait longer for a social home.

🚨 JUST IN: tens of thousands of people will need to turn to a food bank for the very first time this winter.

We expect to provide an emergency food parcel EVERY 10 SECONDS.

I wish I could be with you in your worship. It engages with all the senses from the gentle light and smell of the lit candles, the touch of the wood of the Celtic cross, the sight of the holy icons and hearing the beautiful Taize chants that you will be singing later as you meditate on the Lord.

Unusual problem for the #pars in that we are losing our midfielder Alfons Amade as he heads off to represent Mozambique in the African Nations Cup with matches against Ivory Coast, Gabon and Cameroon to be played on 24th, 28th and 31st December.

Watching the scenes of aggressive protesters outside the Falkirk hotel on the BBC disclosure programme there is clearly a need for a safe access zone. Exclusion zones have worked successfully around hospitals and it now needs done around hotels housing asylum seekers.
@johnswinneysnp.bsky.social
Safe access zones have hugely reduced the number of anti-choice protests near hospitals.

It is something that government should look at in relation to hotels.

These protests are designed to spread fear.
They don’t reflect the community that I represent.

Thanks to the ferret for covering this story. I always find it interesting how the anti-immigration demonstrators claim to be protecting women and children when so many of them have convictions for violence against women and children.

Such a contrast when they interviewed the two refugees in Aberdeen who had converted to Christianity for whom staying in Iran meant they would be executed.
Tonight's BBC #Disclosure programme 'Are refugees welcome here?' is a tough watch. It is very concerning to see the racism, Islamophobia, vigilante abuse and intimidation happening at anti-migrant protests and across public places in Aberdeen and Falkirk.
