This is clearly the case and Russia and China will seek dominance in Africa and Asia.
Europe should step up engagement across these continents.
Commentary: In his early weeks in office, President Trump’s actions, including tariffs and cuts to foreign aid, have inadvertently benefited China by weakening U.S. soft power and global influence.
Trump’s initial moves will benefit China
And while Trump has claimed that his policies will strengthen America, in reality thus far the biggest winner of many of his actions has actually been China.

Sensible stuff from Ed Davey - it's likely that this country will increasingly face the choice between the US and the EU. What the US expects back in return won't be worth the sacrifice to get a trade deal.

Bluesky has added 2.6 million (!) new users over the last few days, 85% of which are Brazilian.

Musk behaves as if X still has a monopoly over text-based social media. In reality, there are now viable alternatives and he's flooding his competition with new users.
