Chuck Schumer has been ineffective. We needed a strong leader.
The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

What puzzles me about this state is how, after people vote on a measure and it passes, the state legislature can simply discard it. Coming from Texas, this is something I've never experienced. They've done this with issues like Right to Work, abortion, and more.
We had to collect 180K signatures to put proposition A on the ballot to increase minimum wage to $13.75 and guarantee sick pay for Missourians. The measure won.
Just now, the Missouri House voted to overturn our will. Without signatures…with a vote. They do the bidding of the wealthy.

I am voting no on the CR. Trump and Musk are taking a wrecking ball to vital services for veterans, seniors and kids. I will not support a bill that helps them do it. I will support a clean 30 day CR.

In times like these, using strong language feels fitting. I hadn't noticed how often I'd been swearing until I visited my parents and let a few slip in front of them. It's not really my usual style, but with the anger I’ve been feeling, saying "fuck" and "motherfucker" is what's keeping me sane.
Several people popped into this thread to chastise me for using the word "fuck" so many times in one post, and I was all, "oh, honey, that's my actual brand" in my brain before I blocked them so they never have to see my filthy filthy posts on Bluesky ever again
