The announcement of new asylum measures by the Home Secretary risks fuelling anti-migrant rhetoric.

We reiterate our solidarity with our colleagues, many of whom are being subjected to increasingly hostile treatment as a direct result.

My short Rushed starring Cherrelle Skeete and Azan Ahmed has finished its festival run at last night's Birmingham Film Festival Screening. Quite fitting as it is a love letter to Brum.

It's up for the audience award which can be voted for here:

Screen B14 are excited to bring you this dizzying pop-art fantasia. Shining a light on the queer subcultures of 60s Tokyo with its stunning visuals, it’s a transfeminine, Oedipal, fever dream. Not to be missed!

I'm trying to remember who did this stand-up comedy routine about a friend who does cryptic crosswords and comes up with the answer Omar Sharif. The internet is not helping 😢

Got a 2-4-1 on Mexican auteur directors when I went to see a preview screening of Frankenstein by DirectorsUK. Great chat between two old friends Guillermo Del Toro and Alfonso Cuaron. Worth having to get the rail replacement bus twice!

Stewart Lee remains one of my favorites comedians for a reason. I do not always agree with what he says, but I agree more often than I don't

Drum roll… the return of Stewart Lee!

The Nerve team is delighted to have signed Stewart as our first weekly columnist.

Here he is on how ‘consequential culture’, formerly cancel culture, works.

I have a theory that every Mission Impossible film where Tim Cruise has short hair is good and every one where he has long hair is not so good. There are however two exceptions MI:3 and Ghost Protocol.
