You've conveniently forgotten Captain Nemo's beard, which defies medical science to this day. QED, eh?

Thinking about goats, as is my wont, and Flossie comes to mind. An excellent milker and when I did her in drypoint, I sold enough prints to pay for almost an entire semester's tuition of art school.

Thank god for community colleges (NoVa-Alexandria) and thank god for Flossie, G.O.A.T

"Friends" is a beloved American sitcom that aired from 1994 to 2004, following six young adults-Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe - living in New York City. The show explores their friendships, romances, careers, and personal growth over ten seasons.

Posting dummy of "Impressions of Mr. Pyridine" that illo cane from, share and enjoy. It was the proposed sequel to "Adventures of Mr. Pyridine" floppy comix but Fantagraphics had enough of my uncanny ability to not "get it". So now you can "get it".

This sounds very interesting, thanks.

I return the favour with this version, perhaps you're already aware of it, illustrated by the great Mervyn Peake. Both art and text go for an Indo-Chinese-Burmese look and structure. It jettisons everything but the essential love triangle of Rama-Sita-Ravana.

Amongst typesetters, "follow the copy out of the window" was once axiomatic.

For illustrators, "follow the concept out of the window" still makes a good Prime Directive.

There once was an artist named Singh,
Who insisted on doing his thing.
He drew that-which-is-not,
For such was his lot,
That impecunious wretch of a Singh.

Labouring over perspective of a square marble-tiled floor, realizing that usual doping it out by eye wasn't sufficient, I resorted to my 1857 1st edition of Ruskin's Elements of Perspective.

The illustrator who gave me this book is long dead but the foundation he gave me still serves me.

Every Carrollian must insinuate themselves ever deeper into industry, government, military, public institutions, etc. Time to take back this planet! Back to the trees! Get off my lawn!

I'm a teetotaler so I can't drink myself to death, only keep drawing while the mob outside Festung Singh runs amuck.

Kaamika.
Done in my salad days when sandstone lay to hand like a handy, stony thing. Hard on the tools though.

"… This lingering ingratitude stuck in the well-heeled craws of the upper middle class (as the very richest Freedonians preferred to be known), and so, when the entire city was casually destroyed that night by a passing hurricane, no one was too surprised."

"… the city was mostly inhabited by the impoverished descendants of African slaves. Their owners' descendants were too polite to harp upon the subject, but they felt the federally mandated evolution of their property into human beings had been insufficiently appreciated by the latter …"
