My scorebook for last night’s #Orioles game. Good weather, great seats, got to see Beavers and Basallo in O’s jerseys in person for the first time. Just not quite the right result.
MLB is broken in a couple ways:
- TB Rays making the playoffs on a shoestring budget, not actually winning anything, and not attracting fans.
- Pirates making a profit from revenue sharing without ever trying to get better.
All signs so far are that #Orioles view one or both as model franchises.

Scorebook from Sunday’s #Orioles loss. Sucks seeing a bunch of placeholders in O’s jerseys trying to run out the clock on the season. Weather was good though and the spicy bun from Ekiben was excellent.

The Orioles should have a stated goal of trying to win the World Series in 2026
That would mean calling up Basallo & Beavers now so they can get ready to contribute next year
Keeping them down solely for a chance at chasing a 2026 draft pick who, at best, would contribute in 2029 is asinine

#Orioles are intentionally tanking at this point, right? How else do you explain all the DFA scrap heap junk they’re putting on the field instead of using that roster space to get a major league look at all the talent waiting in Norfolk?

Tried the Warehouse Dog tonight. Not bad but not great. Pit beef queso and the hot dog were like two totally separate sandwiches in the same bun, and the fried onions were just a mess to deal with. You know what is great though - Dean Kremer! #Orioles

Henderson also hitting an outstanding 0.941 OPS w/ RISP this year, but only 15% of his PAs are w/ RISP!! O’s just aren’t putting runners in scoring position for their best hitters like they were when the offense was hot.
For all the (justified) talk of how bad the #Orioles are w/ RISP this year, there’s also this:
2023, Mullins had a 1.028 OPS w/ RISP *and* 27% of his plate appearances were w/ RISP!
FF to 2025, and Mullins again leads team with 0.967 OPS w/ RISP, but now with only 21% of his PAs w/ RISP.

This, to me, is the ultimate curse for good regular season teams.
If anyone thinks Ovi’s empty netters are “cheap goals,” go talk to a Blues fan right now. Crazy how many chances they had to put that game away and instead Jets come back and win.
