I may have failed out of art school and I may not be the greatest visual artist out there by a long shot

I watched Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein last Sunday (beautiful film, highly recommend) and have since been consuming press tour content of it. Watched a video where del Toro talks about living w/ James Cameron for a time and how they watched anime together and can’t get over how cute that is. 😭

If you’re distraught and horrified by the current direction of the United States like I am, I implore you to take a few minutes out of your day to look up what’s on your ballot and where your nearest polling place is, and go vote in your local elections. Change and progress happens at all levels.

it's election day and there's important stuff on the ballot in many cities. i want to say as someone who's generally skeptical of the national election cycle and doesn't believe in electoralism as an end unto itself, voting in local elections is SO important. everything that matters happens locally.

I've seen folks in my local Buy Nothing give out literal BOXES of free food before. If you don't mind sometimes driving a little out of the way to get free stuff, it's worth checking out.

I saw someone call Ai a Thneed and I can't stop thinking about it. It's a PERFECT analogy. The Thneed was an all-purpose tool that didn't do anything really useful. It was a fad that did major damage to the environment to make the Onceler a billionare. It left no real lasting impact, only damage.
