Little kids have to seat in a 35 deg classroom, with no AC and windows with no blinds and sometimes no insulation. This is happening today, in France.
On the teachers' side, there is the possibility of exercising the right of withdrawal after getting the approval from their academy.

So I was in Corrèze last week… on Wednesday night, we left home at 7:30 to go to the restaurant. There was an orange alert but it is not the first time and the sky was just a bit grey and it was not even raining… 10 minutes later under a super scary hail storm we decided to return home…
Anyone in Europe the last few days has been suffering. I’m in Correze, French department with superb landscapes, and lots of rain. For the last 5 days I’ve been living like a vampire. Blinds are closed, rooms are dark and I’m not going outside in the daytime, if I do, I might burst into flames

à Toulouse, le nombre de jours de "très fortes chaleur" (>= 35 °C) en juin sera probablement compris entre 6 et 8. Au bas mot, on aura autant de jours > 35 °C en juin 2025 que durant l'ensemble des mois de juin du XXème siècle depuis le début des mesures à Blagnac en 1947 (6, dont 2 en juin 1976).

Like many people, I used to do seasonal wardrobe clear-outs. If I hadn’t worn something for two seasons, it was donated. (Resale apps weren’t a thing back then.)

When I left my previous company, that is the word that came up the most from my boss’ farewell speech.
I think it might have been his polite way of saying that I was super pushy . Either way, I took it is a compliment and proof that I did my job well.

We need to stop walking past the low-hanging fruit. Because if we can’t act on the solutions that are cost-effective, scalable, and available now, how can we claim to be serious about the harder ones? So, pick the fruit. And plant more.
