Giving people consumable gifts frees the gift receiver from the responsibility to display, store, watch, read, listen to, or wear the gift prominently. If they like the gift, they consume it and it's gone. If they don't like it, they trash it or someone else consumes it. No problema.

Fainted in my bathroom on Sunday night, ribs still sore, a night lost to hospital tests. Today, a patient spit on me and bit my hand. An ill wind!

Eno diary, 18 Nov 95: "Sorting out CDs. I have so many, no idea where most came from. It’s so easy to make ‘sonic landscapes’ now..millions of people at it. A whole technology exists for it..by the time a whole technology exists for something it probably isn’t the most interesting thing to be doing.

Depending on your taste, there are other Dead shows this good - perhaps as many as a half dozen.

But there are none better.

in tonight's #meditation ... practice phrases like ...

"just don’t pick and choose"
"if you try to approach it you go away from it" and
"have no gaining idea"

... led to an appreciation that ...

the way things are

otherwise known as

the fact that there is anything

is the meditation

Don Hamerquist: “The essence of anti-fascist organizing must be the development of a left bloc that can successfully compete with such fascists, presenting a revolutionary option that confronts both fascism and capitalism in the realm of ideas and on the street.”

Did a late evening qigong practice. It was refreshing. I felt my mind quiet in a way it hasn't for quite some time. A release of pent up emotions followed along with a sense of freedom with an opened heart.

The space of our wisdom
Has no extreme or middle.
The dominion of the Dharma
Has no outside or inside.
It is unborn.
It is not still.
It is not attached.
It is spontaneously realized.

Every situation we are part of invites us to taste the plasticity of our identity, our capacity to be moulded and shaped by events since we too are but a series of events.

After many years of being "not a movie person," I have come to find I like a few directors quite a bit. Not coincidentally directors I encountered in my 20s, but still interesting that some part of me was watching closely even when my sense of self was detached from my vision (in grey depression).

One of the finest JGB shows, particularly set 1, and there are multiple very good to great audience recordings available. There's a SBD for set 1 but it's inferior to the good audience tapes
