Also a reminder that if you are reading good coverage, share/post those links, a lot has shifted and people need to know where to find information
There are literally not enough journalists employed in the US to cover the bad shit that is happening right now. We are now going to experience the social consequences of a weakened news industry--which are the same as the benefits of a weakened news industry, to those who weakened it.

unfortunately for these folks the odds are that they aren’t going to go after violent criminals at all — too hard — and going to go exclusively over the easiest targets, which are law abiding workers

RFK Jr. and his family stand to profit off lawsuits against vaccines. An HHS Secretary shouldn't have a financial interest in making our country sicker. I’m demanding RFK Jr. recuse himself from any work on vaccine policy while he has a financial interest in the outcome.

honestly think some of the hesitation here is that no one wants to sound like a crank. i was talking at an event last night and even i felt like a crank while i was speaking!
What if there were a coup, the US government fell to a drug-addled oligarch who seized control of our money, secrets, and levers of power, and Corporate media did not report on it?

All politics is local. Get involved in local politics. If you don't want to run, get behind someone who does.

Go to a drag show. Support the venues that hold them.

Ask women's clinics what they need, often times they need escorts.

Look into how you can be environmental steward for your area via rain barrels/native plantings/alternative transportation.

Shop local, shop small (Etsy, eBay), don't give a F'n penny to the billionaire boys club companies. Boycott any companies (that you can) that licked the n@zi boots of dumpy. If you have to buy something, go to a thrift store. Low-buy, no-buy, if you can.

@cantwell.senate.gov care to explain? You like non-government actors having control over these systems?

Where is your fight? Where is your outrage?

Is it time for a new senator for Washington? We won’t forget your abdication of responsibility.
16 Democratic senators recently voted to confirm the Trump-appointed Treasury Secretary who just gave Musk’s team access to a Treasury payment system that disburses trillions and holds mass quantities of personal information. Food for thought. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

is it good or bad that a billionaire oligarch with close ties to foreign dictators is currently downloading the most sensitive information the us federal government has about its citizens to his own private servers?

I hold a lot of disdain for the people who didn’t see this coming given P2025 but it does seem like the actual support for these goals is nonexistent, everyone who voted for him did so under the incredibly stupid assumption that he wouldn’t do this

The most surreal and maddening feature of the campaign was that everyone agreed that high prices were the main issue but the guy explicitly, consistently running on a platform of raising everyone’s prices won voters most concerned about high prices.

We hammered this time and time again and yet.

USAID is a criminal organization,” Mr. Musk wrote on Sunday in a social media post that many aid workers saw as confirmation the agency would soon be absorbed into the State Department and that some viewed as a potential threat to their personal safety. “Time for it to die.”
THIS HAS TO STOP.
