Democrats need to lay the groundwork for reform by attacking the villains on the Supreme Court - loudly, angrily, personally, relentlessly. And they should start now.

Democrats Need to Treat the Supreme Court Like the Villain It Is
The Court is out of control, and we'll never see reform unless we build the case for it. Starting now.

They are going to attack the "shall be elected" part of the amendment. If he's put into office without using an election, then the courts would have to allow it because of the way the amendment is written. Hopefully the courts wouldn't allow him to be installed that way though! Pretty scary.
very easy to see what is happening. trump will run for a third term, he’ll try to bring the dispute to federal courts, where his election denying judges will rewrite the 22nd amendment to mean it only refers to “consecutive” terms.
This is becoming the standard line for Trump judicial nominees: All of them will say only that Congress "certified" the election, which translates from Polite Republican Lawyer as "Trump should have been reelected and only lost because of Democrat voter fraud" ballsandstrikes.org/nominations/...

I really wish the media would cover how most of these executive orders are not within his power to make instead of covering how they will be enforced.
Moments ago, Donald Trump signed a massive voter suppression executive order. This will not stand. We will sue.

arguments over who would get blamed for a shutdown are insane. the median voter has no idea this is happening. the median voter knows one fact about politics and it’s that Donald Trump is the President

I cannot emphasize this enough: no one will remember the shutdown even happened when it’s time to vote next year. One way or the other!

If Chuck Schumer votes for cloture tomorrow, it’s proof that he’s weak and is a clear sign that we need new Democratic leadership. Polling shows that only 22% of independents would blame Democrats for a shutdown, while 56% would blame the GOP or Trump.

Americans want Democrats to FIGHT, not CAVE!!!

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

A YES on cloture is a YES for the bill.

Who benefits from this? Not the average citizen who will be losing health care, public safety, education, fraud oversight, etc. You don't get any money these moves are "saving". They are doing this to pay for their tax cuts for the ultra rich again. GOP: money flowing to the top as intended.

@aoc.bsky.social The Dems need to flood social media with regular citizens making videos of being negatively impacted by this administration destroying the government. The more it comes from the red states the better.
Rep. Jason Smith dismisses farmers in his state who are getting stiffed by the US government not fulfilling contracts: "Right now it's a little bit disruptive, but that's what this administration promised whenever they were coming to Washington is that they would be disruptive."
