This unbelievably dim loser thinks he comes off well in this video, as he tries to force his way into a daycare.

The employee asks “what department” they’re from, and he says “we are from ourselves” — because being an entitled white man empowers you to act like a vigilante, apparently?
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

Question: But the president’s statements that he believed the election was rife with fraud—those are statements protected by the First Amendment, correct?

Smith: Absolutely not. If they are made to target a lawful government function and are made with knowing falsity, then no, they are not.

Absolutely right.

AI might be able to summarize (poorly) what we currently know, but a major goal of historical research is to find the hidden surprises out there.

Let me illustrate …
Not a historian but like to research. The AI might summarize what I'm looking for, but it doesn't find what I'm *not* looking for. The book on the shelf next to the one I wanted. The insight in chapter 6 based on the quote I needed from chapter 4.

The articles in this issue didn't just use Nazi imagery, they actively called for mass execution of people they view as immoral, abortion and gender affirming care providers, sex workers, LGBTQ people etc. It's blatantly fascist propaganda that has no place at Harvard.
Ross Douthat was the EIC of this publication when we were in college.

“variations of a racial slur used casually in a group chat of members; an unpublished issue featuring a call for mass executions; and draft versions…that included two images of swastikas and a Nazi slogan in the subtitle.“

Historian of eugenics here. I don't normally like to retweet bad arguments, but this is such a fundamental misunderstanding of eugenics, I think it's important to point out. I don't have time to debunk all of the ways this is inaccurate, but I'll highlight a few things and then recommend some books🧵

God bless Sesame Street. The Sesame Workshop folks kept the (tasteful) parody torch glowing for nearly 60 years, and here's their latest.

Curious what the guy who made the films they're parodying feels about Muppets now. And yes, this is quite tasteful:

It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration.

But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants.

The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.

By almost any measure, Cheney was the most powerful vice president in history, the "architect and executor of President Bush's major initiatives," writes Robert McFadden. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/04/u...

Mike Johnson talks about the Republican "healthcare plan" like it's highly classified information: "We're not gonna be on a conference call explaining all our plans and strategies for healthcare reform, because they're leaked in real time."
