I’ve been saying this for years! The U.S. guaranteed Ukraine’s territorial integrity in return for them giving up their nuclear arsenal. I’ll add that I remember training with Ukrainian troops at Camp Lejeune in 1996-97 during Partnership for Peace exercises. We have MORAL RESPONSIBILITY TO UKRAINE
(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
