This thread is wild. I’ll just say these two things:
volunteers are wonderful and sporadic.
there’s a reason libraries hide their dumpsters from the public, and I would imagine charity book shops have a similar approach.
CHARITY BOOKSHOP VOLUNTEERS. Try not to look actively resentful when someone brings in bags of books to donate.

Unreasonably sad to discover that I left my leftovers at the restaurant.

I like that Grand Funk Railroad’s biggest hit serves as a clarification on their origin and an overview of their mission statement.

This woman is a haunted Victorian doll that was given life and you can’t convince me otherwise.

Okay, hear me out Bears fans, we get Justin Fields back, but to return kicks and be a Taysom Hill. He could even play a little running back like DJ Moore does.
Yes, it’s dumb, but he’s such a great athlete who can do great things with the ball—throwing just isn’t one of those things.

RE starbucks picket line--the relevant detail is "picket line, do not cross." Pass that along. Proclaiming that you are in no danger of doing so because you are too aesthetically pure to let Starbucks coffee pass your lips is...unhelpful and does not give the impression you perhaps imagine it does.

And yet they still don’t get it. And let’s be real “Christians” actually ignore most of their book too. Because there is no hypocrisy quite like Christian hypocrisy.

One cool thing about getting lettuce directly from your farmer is that it sometimes comes with a free slug!
Anyway, here’s a song I wrote about slugs.

Hanging with my boy for a few minutes while the dishwasher repairman is downstairs. Unfortunately, I have to leave this poor guy up here and go to work. The wife unit is working from home, so he won’t be completely alone.

The pope used to arrive at undisclosed locations via black helicopter.
What's from Chicago, hates Illinois Nazis, and is holy as fuck?

It's the Pope in 1982.

This was such an important issue to so many Americans until recently. Can’t quite put my finger on why…
Americans might not understand it, but in many cultures it’s considered bad or even immoral to be a child rapist

This is dumb. Of course they bought a World Series. Every team should be trying to buy a World Series, otherwise what are you doing?
Looking at you, White Sox, who have been barely existing as a baseball team, but have decent success as a logo on hats.
"That's not true."

Did the Dodgers buy a championship? On the new Starkville, I asked their president, Stan Kasten, about Jason Kelce's take - and lots more!

Also, @dougglanville.bsky.social & I weigh in on Clase,
Ortiz & sports betting. Plus more of your calls!
