Do you get annoyed when uncompromising anti-Zionism is dismissed as "purity politics"? If so, you might find this short essay worth a read:

Palestine and the Politics of Purity - Steve Salaita
Accusing anti-Zionists of “purity politics” is a lazy rhetorical evasion.

Confirms all of my worst suspicions, not so much about US demands (although they are insane) but also the quality of Mexico's negotiating team, which (FFS) just added some former Rahm Emanuel staffer.
What Trump Really Wants from Mexico

If Mexico continues to comply with US demands, there will be two victims: Mexican business, which will find no protection or support to compete w/ American corporations, & the Sheinbaum administration, which won't be able to manage the economy to benefit Mexicans

"Support of Palestine is inherently subversive in the West because Israel is essential to Europe and America’s idea of themselves. Even if we assiduously focus on Palestine in isolation from other issues, its liberation is necessarily a world-building project."

"Lobby them" will certainly be what every dismal civil society NGO (and many unions, sadly) will say as Oldman Sachs Carney unleashes another neoliberal restructuring project, but the moment demands a hell of a lot more
We can't elect a leader and then sit back - especially in a Parliamentary system - and expect our every expectation to be met. You vote for the best option and then, if you want to influence them from there you observe, pressure and lobby them to reach that goal.

Elections are only the beginning.
Announcement: I will be on Carney’s neck
