Case-by-case some live albums sound AMAZING, I think it's disingenuous to dismiss them so, sweepingly(?), so broadly.
I also think studio albums can sometimes sound very, very tame... for example, I prefer the live versions of The Now Now songs by Gorillaz compared to the studio counterparts.
