I already had a Green Goblin deck in Moxfield waiting for Normam, but great jumping pumpkins this is even better than I could have hoped for! Not only do we connive but we'll be unblockable while we do?

Hold my formula, we're going to make some magic #MTGxSpiderMan! 🎃👨‍🔬
Spider-Man's most notorious foe pulls double duty on showcasing both a new and returning mechanic to #MTGxSpiderMan! Norman Osborn shows the return of Connive while Green Goblin makes full use of your graveyard utilizing the new Mayhem mechanic. #MTGxSpiderMan

Don't worry, your eyes don't deceive you! While these Panel cards LOOK like a comic, they are absolutely Magic cards. #MTGxSpiderMan #MTGxMarvel

Thieves' Tools shouldn't be a thing.

The fantasy wants the rogue to pick locks with whatever they have on hand, like a hairpin or corkscrew. The ingenuity of the rogue should not be dependent on having the right tools for the job; a cunning thief will make whatever they have work for them.

Just finished reading #legendsandlattes and what a fun read! 📖☕️

I keep seeing it referred to as "low stakes"- and sure, compared to saving the world maybe, but relative to the average story? I'd say it has plenty of stakes. Acceptance, love and self-image are all put on the line. Isn't that enough?

I got a "blind date with a book" from the English book store in Utrecht. A delightful concept, except...I just unwrapped a book I already read!

It's like that Piña Colada song - the escape I was looking for was the book I'm already married to.

Let's see if Oscar can still excite me.

Checking my social media usage I was shocked at how much time I spent on Reddit.

I'm a lurker there; I just browse and browse without posting anything. Ultimately, it's an endless timesink. I decided to remove it from my phone.

Here's to giving Bluesky another shot.

When it comes to reading 📚 I go in cycles:

♥️ I find a book I really love and devour it rapidly.
📖 I enthusiastically pick a new book expecting to fall in love again.
🥱 The book doesn't connect and reading turns into a chore.
🥲 I decide reading is not for me, actually.

Repeat every few months.

For a level 12 oneshot I once played a faerie armorer artificer like a Gundam pilot, treating a full plate armor like a giant mecha.

Now I'm playing this character at a lower level for a longer campaign. I have to cobble together my armor from fish scaled and sewing tools. This rocks!

Invasive AI Co-Piloting tools made me revaluate what other intrusive "support" I suffer from.

As an experiment I decided to switch off grammar & spelling checks on the word processor I use for creative writing.

Bliss. PURE BLISS.

Let the editors worry about spelling; I'll ramble as I please!

I'm rolling up a fairy artificer and I just found out there's no overlap between the spells you get from the fairy race and the fey-touched feat.

So we're going with a fey-touchef fairy...

...touched by whom, exactly? 🫢

Years ago I ran a joke encounter against a Cloud Giant Monster Trainer. As a reward I gave my players what amounted to a pokéball.

BIG MISTAKE.

They used it to capture a young black dragon. They later threw it into the Wolf God's mouth. BECAUSE IT'S IMMUNE TO ACID DAMAGE.

#dnd #gmtip Attacks failing to connect do not have to be attributed to incompetence. An exchange of blows where every strike is parried can be interpreted as a showcase of mastery instead! You can use your narration to make high AC characters feel awesome, rather than to make NPC's look foolish.

Previous session my pirate players found an ice giant and liberated her from an iceberg.

Turns out she's lost her memory and doesn't know how she ended up here.

Upcoming session the pirates will run afoul a giant snowglobe bobbing on the waves like a massive buoy. Could there be a connection?

You know that feeling when you're blocked on what you want to do next session but then a single idea unclogs your imagination and suddenly a whole geyser of ideas flow out and suddenly you have a session?

That's my favorite feeling ever.

My next session will involve a fight in an abandoned stone quarry. I really want to make a 3D-map of this area; I think an inverted pyramid shape will make for dynamic and fun terrain. I'm no good at crafts though. How do I make this? What material do I use? #DnD

#dnd #dmtip Amagrams are a great way of creating fantasy names. For example, did you know 'Zadrigel' is an anagram for Greedy Lizard? My players don't but they sure are familiar with the draconic tyrant of that name.

#DnD #DMtip Short rests don't need to be a full hour if it doesn't fit the narrative. A short rest can be any brief respite from danger- a sandwich, a smoke break, a moment to catch your breath. Don't deny your players this viable resource on account of The Story.

#DnD Idea: The workers of the quarry delved too deep and unearthed a decidedly draconic-looking skeleton. They have proudly put it on display for all to see, and the inevitable dark-mantled figure is already on their way, carrying what might very well be some kind of phylactery...
