I know viewers of art/comics don't pay attention to smaller details, they don't keep track of how consistent anything is. The trick is just to care less and go with the flow... but that's going to be difficult for me without getting super drunk/high first lol. I need to try sometime

Your art can be as ambiguous and carefree as Yoshitaka Amano's ONLY if you know you're drawing it just once. He never had to struggle with that comic artist dread of "oh shit I need to draw this fantasy mech 50 more times? From different angles? And keep it consistent somehow???"
