I never got the chance to know my two grandfathers, but was fortunate enough to have two amazing grandmothers. Both have been hit by alzheimers (one now recently gone). What a horrid curse.

Not to dismiss the severity of other diseases, but I truly think alzheimers is the worst there is.

He is right and it did exactly as they intended. It’s always been an issue of abuse and control, a transfer of wealth upward while the poor and middle class suffer:
The wages of the richest 1% have skyrocketed 182% since 1979.

Meanwhile, the wages of the bottom 90% have seen just 44% growth.

Trickle down economics was always a hoax.

Syria: The largest statue of Hafez Assad in the country has been destroyed. The Assad dictatorship lasted for 53 years from 1971. Ruled first by Hafez, then his son Bashar.

📌Under Joe Biden:

-Record 16 million jobs created
-Lowest average unemployment rate of any administration in 50 yrs
-Incomes up $4,000 over prices
-Inflation at world-best 2%
-Economy grew more than any presidential term this century

Dems lose election because of economy.
Absolutely INSANE.

Mine is not a horror story, per se, but having lived in both Germany and France, I can tell you, I *hate* the US profit-driven medical system. People who defend it are either making money on it, don't know any better, or are ideologically blinded.
Here @jasonkoebler.bsky.social writes his friend was filling out surveys/games to get few dollars off essential medication. People are outpouring their "horrendous, inhumane, heartbreaking experiences with a profit-driven, private American healthcare system" www.404media.co/behind-the-b...

Only form of social media I've used over the last decade was Twitter. Since Elon took over, its quality has drastically plummeted.

I like Bluesky, but it isn't good enough yet. So far, just seems to be an echo chamber for the left. And I'm a Dem saying this.

The final House results have now landed as 220-215 for the GOP. That means the House majority came down to the 3 NC seats the GOP flipped thanks to its brand new gerrymander.

And that gerrymander hinged on NC's supreme court flipping in 2022.

I am watching with grave concern over the actions of the South Korean president to declare martial law, all because the opposition has blocked his agenda and impeached his cabinet.

Democracy is under assault across much of the world. We must be on highest guard here as well as Trump takes office.

Call me crazy, but I think Justin Sun, a Chinese national being prosecuted for fraud by the SEC, sending Trump $18 million should be a bigger story

The direct enrichment of Trump by a foreign national weeks before he takes office has merited no coverage in the NYT or Washington Post
A Chinese national, charged with fraud by the SEC, just sent Donald Trump $18 million
Chinese Crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun paid $6.2 million for a banana — sold by Sotheby's as conceptual art — and then ate it last Friday.

Trump is seizing control of the investigative and prosecutorial powers of the state by staffing them with the most conspiratorial and blindly loyal nominees : Gaetz/Bondi, Patel, Gabbard.

Political retribution is his priority. The rest of governing he doesn’t care about.

I definitely feel less and less interested in Twitter, but I appreciate this because it has the exact vibe I'd use to describe how it feels right now. A man desperate for relevance makes escalating levels of bad decisions in pursuit of the love of a man who lacks empathy or morals

This is wild. Dems would have taken control of Congress 218-217 had we won 2022 North Carolina Supreme Court races. But instead, GOP won the NC Supreme Court and gerrymandered 3 Dem seats into completely non-existence. Instead R’s now control the house 220-215.

25% tariff on all Canadian imports will devastate gas prices. Shown here are all the cross border imports of Canadian oil. Keep in mind that a lot of US oil cannot be directly used/refined in the U.S.— we actually export U.S. “light” crude and instead import “heavy” crude to use in U.S.
