Librarians are trying to plan for the 45% reduction of ERIC. While the Department of Education has not (yet) released a title list of journals that are being de-selected, we're trying to create a list via a grassroots effort. View and contribute journal titles here: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Please add any research you know has been cancelled. We need to hold this administration accountable.
We need to organize--let’s help each other.

NIH is cancelling grants, but it's not clear exactly what they're cancelling and why. Without this information, we can't respond.

I've started a Google Sheet to track grant cancellations.

Please add any canceled grants you know of and spread the word!

I put accounts I read for news purposes on lists instead of following them. It's not a strategy that works for everyone, but it helps me keep the news to a dull roar.
Bluesky has become another social media platform where I get news updates on all the worst things going on right now, which is not good for focus, productivity or mental health. If you don't need to monitor this site for your job, I recommend logging off for extended periods.

They're doing an end run around the courts.
“What is happening is that they’re basically blocking the process, just by an administrative, legal means, rather than by ordering staff not to make grants,” said Jeremy Berg, who directed the National Institute of General Medical Sciences at the N.I.H. for eight years...

If people are archiving data and resources, can y’all post osf and other links? So this way we can crowdsource and work smarter not harder about downloading and scraping all the files off the gov websites? #academicchatter

On another note this feels like a dystopia 🥲

Most papers comparing clustered data methods use biostat/econ language, so I tried to write one using psyc/ed language that covers the origin of the independence assumption, how each method handles ind. violations, and types of questions best-suited for each method
