Raised in Portland, moved to Brooklyn, followed my heart to the 'burbs of Toronto. Stay-at-home mom to a toddler and wife to AC Thomas. I cook and garden and have a lot of opinions.
What I made: mushroom risotto. What I listened to while I made it: Trixie and Katya highlights.

I want to get back into posting, so I’m starting a series called “What I Made, What I Watched.” Just pretend I’ve always been here.

What I made: roasted cheer tomatoes with feta, on Parmesan polenta. What I listened to: Unsleeping City season 1 highlights.

People who are flummoxed by folks who have "made it" standing up for the those who are still slugging away a) don't realize how thin the margin is in creative fields between those states, b) are often indicating they if they made it, they'd be pulling ladders up behind them, which is... interesting.
Millionaires standing up for non millionaires in the same union is good actually

The reason my posting is so deeply unspicy now isn't just motherhood kicking in. It's also that I fully married my Twitter crush and now I have no one on here I'm trying to trick into loving me.

Making spanakopita! It’s too hot for things that you can’t eat cold.

Had to crank it up to 500 to get the cheese to brown, but I got this done just under the wire!

Quick spinach artichoke dip for @acthomas.bsky.social before my afternoon flight to NYC!

This is really good. Like, "take an extra five minutes to put my toddler to bed" good. I fully got engrossed and forgot time was a thing for a hot second.

I’m on this new med to treat my nightmares, and I ran out recently. Today I discovered Andrew put a pop-up reminder on his phone to make sure I remembered to refill it. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I got to marry @acthomas.bsky.social. Love is real! I’m just as surprised as you!

No better feeling in parenting than when your partner says “I’ve got this, go goof off for another half hour.”

Twitter is melting down and I feel as chill as my toddler on Canada Day.

Hello to my Twitter friends who are moving over here.

This is my main frustration with Bluesky. I can't build a community when 90% of my friends on Twitter can't get an account. What's the deal? When do we get out of this phase, Bluesky?
Sure wish this place would start opening its doors more, as I know a lot of people who want to jump from Twitter, but the comparatively tiny user base over here keeps it from becoming a replacement.

It bodes well for this site that whenever someone has a code they’re like “I’m either going to give it to the journalist who won a Pulitzer for reporting on corruption within a sheriff’s department or my boy WeedBoner”

Like 50% of my favorite skeets have been from Parker Molloy or someone I followed because of her. I just enthusiastically subscribed to her Substack.
Feeling so low today.

I'm not sure if I'll have any newsletters out today, but I'd really appreciate it if you'd all subscribe. It's free (or you can pay if you want, which is certainly appreciated as the newsletter is my primary source of income these days). Thanks.

Ron DeSantis allowing the state to steal trans kids from their parents is number eight, friends.

Never again is now.
Never again continues to be now.

This morning is the SAG/DGA vote and we’re taking the toddler to the developmental pediatrician to assess his need for physiotherapy because he’s a late walker. What a cool and chill confluence of stuff that could happen in a morning!

My 21 month old has started asking for specific songs before naptime and my heart is exploding. I love knowing what's going on in his head.
