I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.
Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

I’m old enough to remember the Repubs in the Senate using the filibuster on things such as voting rights & reproductive rights!
The Senate Dems should hear from their constituents ahead of the vote… the R’s should be forced to negotiate & the only way is if they filibuster and hold the line.
