Marugame is a port town in Shikoku that was once a major centre for maritime trade on the Seto Inland Sea, but is now quite depressed. Bit like a Japanese Ramsgate. But it does boast an amazing castle - one of only 7 classed as an Important Cultural Asset by the government.
