Decided to hold off on redoing the lips in favor of doing something easier and start on the tail. Gonna be out for most of the day but hopefully I’ll finish the outline at some point today.

We have reached the “oh fuck is this bad actually???” stage of things. I’m debating restitching the outline in black since the different shades of brown aren’t distinct enough but we’ll see

Blick only had stick on gems, not sew-on sequins, and these beads were cheap so…. Maybe I’m doing beaded embroidery now.

Did a decent job tracing I think. The scales are way too small for satin stitch — they were too small for me to not lose my mind while tracing! — so I’ll probably do French knots or something. We’ll see!

Now that I have successfully stitched a mermaid tail I’m considering leveling up and trying this lady. She has more — and smaller — scales, plus I’m always anxious about stitching faces, but her hair will give me an opportunity to do turkey work, which I love, so… we’ll see.
