I've been in my new job for two weeks now and only just starting to figure out a schedule for my writing and such. But today, I relaxed by making cake. Orange bundt cake with an orange rum glaze. I only ate 1 piece, so I'm guessing from what my hubby & son ate, it's a winner.

Hubby and I took the bikes to Angel Island to ride the Perimeter Road. Very hilly, not everything was paved, so 5 miles took us over an hour, but it was an absolutely beautiful day for it. This is view of San Fran from the 1/2 point of the route. Wish I'd stopped to take more pictures, though.

Decided to finally watch Kpop Demon Hunters tonight & was very pleasantly surprised since I don't listen to kpop and tend to get super stubborn about heavily hyped media. Oddly charming & I actually enjoyed the music. Of course, all the Buffy coding appeals to the Slayer-lover in me, too.

It's a product of its time and problematic in at least one uncomfortable way, but damn if "Random Harvest" with Ronald Colman and Greer Garson still doesn't make me cry. One of my favorite love stories ever. #classichollywood

Favorite romance trope: gentle giant, hands down. Enemies to lovers would be second. I love that both force the characters to look past the superficial and dig deeper.

I like/write both. What happens is dictated by the story. Sometimes, that physical connection comes first. Sometimes, it builds from friendship or needs to get past other emotional blocks before a physical connection can happen. The characters decide that, not me. #writinglifemonthly #writing
