I've been in my new job for two weeks now and only just starting to figure out a schedule for my writing and such. But today, I relaxed by making cake. Orange bundt cake with an orange rum glaze. I only ate 1 piece, so I'm guessing from what my hubby & son ate, it's a winner.

Hubby and I took the bikes to Angel Island to ride the Perimeter Road. Very hilly, not everything was paved, so 5 miles took us over an hour, but it was an absolutely beautiful day for it. This is view of San Fran from the 1/2 point of the route. Wish I'd stopped to take more pictures, though.

This comes a bit after what I posted yesterday. The pair didn't really interact before Joe went to comfort his daughter. He got her calmed down, then came back to talk to the teacher. Both are wrapped up in other emotions, and this is a slow-burn story. #writinglifemonthly #writing

My current WIP is about a lonely widower too afraid to look for love again for fear of hurting his already-hurt 6 y/o daughter. He's come to the school in a panic about an emergency and meets the substitute teacher that his daughter has been gushing about. #writinglifemontly #writing

Because I absolutely suck at social media, I was so grateful my publisher (@jms-books.com) shared something she found with us: Author August '25! I figure hey, it'll keep me busy this month, at the very least.

Day 1: Introduce yourself and what you write.

June's reading was a motley crew. The Rachel Aaron book was the one I enjoyed the most, but I have to say, of all my autobuy authors, nobody comes close to having an imagination like @darylwriterguy.bsky.social's. The scope of it amazes me with every book of his I read. #booksky

This has been me the past couple days. I finished/submitted a novel to my publisher on Monday, so this week has been about priming for the next project. #writinglife

My reading for March 2025. Thinking 101, A Place for Us, and Queens of London were the best of the bunch, & I only just realized my least favorite didn't make it onto the graphic. Oh well. I wouldn't recommend it anyway. And only 2 DNFs, so a solid month overall. #booksky #readingwrapup #marchreads

It’s here!!!!!! Except I can’t start reading until tomorrow. It’s going to be torture to wait when it’s in the same house as I am. #booksky

Found one of Chico's snack puzzles in the back of a cupboard so filled it & gave it to him. I now remember why we stopped using it. #dogsofbluesky

Today’s cloudy again which makes me miss how pretty it was in my backyard last night. Apricot and plum trees are in full blossom.

My February reads, a month for (mostly) reading to escape. I loved the McGuire and Raybourn books more than any I've read in months. The flipside to this are 5 books I DNF'd for various reasons. #booksky #readingwrapup #februaryreads

Next book on the TBR. I read “Killers of a Certain Age” last year and loved it, so I went digging into her backlist to see what other goodies I could find. #booksky
