If the Epstein files have proven anything, it’s that the justice system isn’t broken; it’s working exactly as it was built to do: to shield the rich and powerful from accountability while victims are buried, ignored, or silenced.

And the biggest compo payout for Robodebt victims is ... Scott Morrison! - Michael West
Compare Robodebt victims' compo to the quantum of Scott Morrison's publicly funded legal fees. It's shameful, reports Rex Patrick.

If refusing to comment is enough to kill a story, then the government now has veto power over journalism.
That’s what CBS normalized last night — and it should scare everyone.

CBS Pulled a “60 Minutes” Story Because the White House Refused to Comment — That’s a Veto on Journalism
Pulling a finished investigation because the administration refused to comment isn’t journalism. It’s submission.

Our hearts are shattered – and some have broken them further
There is no going back to where we were before December 14. But a social contract Australians relied on has been destroyed by the Coalition.

To report 2.7% inflation for November, the Trump Admin excluded data on food, housing, electricity, clothing, medical care, and most other categories.

In fact, only 3 of more than 20 price categories were included in the calculations, making the report meaningless.

Actual inflation is much higher.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Hey! Remember when Barr (Bondi) withheld the Mueller (Epstein) documents for weeks so he (she) could mischaracterize what was in the Mueller (Epstein) Report and spin the findings for three weeks and then over-redact them? I sure do!

The problem with having pattern recognition is that you can always see the fires before they start. Governments are a bit like that, too.  It’s not that they don’t see the fire before the smoke, it’s...
