A famous mouse but his face is the matrix of collagen and hydroxyapatite that lies underneath the outer face sheet. He has glowing red orb sockets and gloves with tips that are orangish-red. Could be anything. Who knows? He is framed inside of a circle like he is looking at you through a steamboat window perhaps. He gazes at you in a way that demands you be indirect with your words or else things might get messy. The colors are mostly yellows, reds, oranges and black. Everything is very painterly.

My back procedure was approved. I’m getting Intracept. The current suffering is unreal but soon it will be lessened, or if fate smiles upon me, gone. 4 years of creeping pain and 1 year of hell. I made this to illustrate that suffering. Now I’m deeper in debt, but I’ll have my back again.
An illustration of skulls and spines and organic symmetrical shapes. Symmetrical patterns, geometric and organic, are things I am unapologetically going to keep producing. This is in eighths. The organic shapes are full of sharp, needle like lines that represent nerves and inflammation. Tendrils go from one skull’s eye socket to an adjacent skull’s socket. This represents the anxiety and intrusive thoughts I have with my left eye always feeling like it is being pulled to sharp furniture corners at my bedside. I don’t know what it is all about. It happens the longer I am in bed. I have to shake my head and cover my eye to reset. This probably won’t make sense to anyone who hasn’t experienced it. The dudes flowing from the center represent the writhing and at the center is a precise locus of pain that spasms emanate from. The spines are spines. It was hard enough trying not to focus on the pain while I drew, ok? 🥲 My health insurance went up $160 more a month on top of $200 a month I have to put back in my retirement for the next year so I could even afford this. I didn’t have enough for the out of pocket, so what I have is enough to allow the procedure to continue, but I will still need to work out the rest. Life is about to get even harder but hopefully it’ll be easier to continue working. My company has been very accommodating. We work with providing mobility devices for the disabled, so people do understand my struggle. If it wasn’t for my benefits team helping me out this last month, I would have decided to go on a business trip with Jesus. They put my timeline together and advocated for me and had the denials overturned. Whatever happens after this, I will just have to take a day at a time.

I don’t know if there will ever be a point in me making polished work again. Why spend the time? It’ll just get glossed over because people will assume it’s clanker spew. Capturing emotion is harder and more interesting anyhow.

I am currently dealing with a bad lumbar and heading towards possible permanent paralysis. Insurance/bwc is a nightmare. Lost the will to do most anything. The pain is enormous. I have mustered the will to make my first animation and pixel art. Harder than I thought. Meant to post this weeks ago.

Ngl, I don’t know how to balance alt text and spoiling. I want you to find things without me explaining too much. Some OC characters with textures and patterns. All of them are surreal and alien like. All of them are wearing interesting clothes with patterns and texture. The character on the left could be one or more characters. A surreal illustration full of characters designed by riffing off each other in a sort of OC free for all. Started with the melty clown creature in the center and then adding strange little guys around it. Many of them have faces in faces and also faces formed with the combination of character placement. The colors are orangey yellows and reds with blues and purples as secondaries. There are many textures throughout from #truegrittexture and of course I have radiating lines because it’s a cheap way to pep up a background. “No ragrats”.

Oh yeeeeah! Time to drink the #koolaid and come look at all my #art ! I was working on expressions and didn’t know want to waste a sketch by dooming it to my #procreate folder of no return, so I ended up giving him arms from his ears and realized he could actually make a great kool-aid man. Lol

This started as practice with various brushes and expressions and ended up having a bit of conceptual imagery when I was trying to present it in a less boring way. Models are from Mark Simon’s Facial Expressions reference book. Jing brushes in procreate. Mostly. #art #sketches
