Scientific research of gender transition has been stuck on "should these people be allowed to transition" for 50 years, so we don't know shit about how transitioning actually works.

in practice people only avoid assuming pronouns for people they suspect might be trans, it's just woke degendering
hot take: I think we should go back to assuming peoples pronouns. if we get it wrong, we should be corrected, say "thank you for correcting me", and not get it wrong again.
