what if you made a metroid-esque game with very live environments with a lot of mechanical engagement (mostly around routing, information, movement, mysteries), deemphasized combat, and made it about 4x as large as they usually are but a lot more labyrinthine and empty.

Tribute to Goron City here. I always thought as a kid like, "what could possibly exist beyond this weird curved hallway?" but thinking back on it I couldn't even remember. It literally doesn't matter. Thinking about it is way more interesting. Going back there sucks probably.
