Perhaps unpopular opinion- Cybertrucks are ugly and I’d never buy one, but they’re all electric, so I respect their drivers more than I do of gas guzzling SUVs.

Friday (11/7) #bcstx topped off at 87° -- the THIRD WARMEST in 143 years of record keeping.

🔴 Unusual, near-record warmth made at least TWICE as likely due to human-caused climate change.

This trend? Already playing out in real-time

The Zavala Elementary PTA is working to raise $7500 this year to support our sweet little east Austin school. We need new chairs for the library, we want to restore some of the field trips which were cut this year in a budget-saving measure, and more. Can you pitch in? Thank you!

The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day:

If you like Caddo Lake State Park, you can thank Lady Bird Johnson's father, Thomas Jefferson Taylor. In 1934 Thomas donated to the state about two-thirds of the land (some 385 acres) composing the park.

I led most of my TX colleagues in opposition to Trump's recent effort to deny and unravel basic climate science.

Preventing EPA from acknowledging that greenhouse gas emissions harm our health will prevent us from maintaining modest climate action or taking necessary steps to cut emissions further.

Tom Homan was investigated for accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents. Trump's DOJ shut it down.
The FBI and Justice officials closed the investigation, which a Justice Department appointee had called a “deep state” probe in early 2025.

“Polystyrene can break down and can both litter and create an eyesore in our parks and rivers, but ... when they're small [the particles] can be mistaken by wildlife for food, and that can cause, serious harm to an animal, a bird a fish, or a turtle,” said Luke Metzger, ED of Environment Texas
For many who live and work around the San Pedro Creek in downtown San Antonio, there has been a light, intermittent flurry of white particles falling through the air in recent days.

My 18 year old son wants an e bike - any recommendations for a solid budget bike? We’d love to use the Austin Energy rebate, but it only applies to local shops where prices are a lot higher. I have a Radpower I love, but he’s looking for something in the $500-600 range.
