One of the best middle grade novels I've read as an adult. Now granted, I don't read that much middle grade fiction (apparently I should change that -- this was fun), but I can just imagine a kid falling in love with reading & books as physical media ...

Making time for new sff releases 📚🪐💙
Scarlet Morning looks & feels like a real labor of love (+ Stevenson's character work has always been amazing) and I'm so excited for Liu to capture my imagination again

Emily Tesh is good at books. Strong character voices, some Pratchettian humour (imps in electronics feels like a deliberate homage), & a (although unabashedly unsubtle) really well crafted thematic throughline 🪐📚

Hottest literary take of the century /s: Nabokov is really good actually.
Read "Speak Memory". It's such a genuinly lovely exploration of memory and heimweh interspersed with real moments of brilliant prose. + it's funny.

This book got me through my reading fatigue (and reading is kinda my job as a lit student. the hell am i gonna write papers on if not the stuff i'm reading). I wasn't in love with it the whole way through but Harrow does just write some damn quotable lines that kept me going.

Finally finished Death of the Author. Really clever interrogation of how our creations shape us.

Started the sequel today. I can already tell from the prelude that I'm gonna love the way she writes aliens

Just started this. Picked it up because I liked the title. Didn't know it's part of a series (the big fat 1 on the spine should've clued me in)

I didn't expect the Aztec cyberpunk political intrigue, but I'm here for it!
