It’s funny to watch people be mad at South Park: conservatives who wrongly thought it was “on their side”, and liberals who take it too personally. I’m a big-ass socialist/green and I find the show hilarious. Parker & Stone are just assholes who will be mean to anybody, and that’s why I like it.

It’s decided, this year for my Christmas/birthday gift to myself, I’m getting custom frames to put all my Ultima cloth maps on a wall! For now it will include Ultima III through IX, plus Shroud of the Avatar. I’m hoping to eventually also get Ultima Online’s map.

In yesterday’s RuneQuest game, the Yelmalion PC marched with a warband to meet Harvar Ironfist in a heroquest. An identification contest was issued and with cunning nerdy bullshit the players tore down Harvar’s god-forming. The PC is now Yelmalio, Harvar is the False Sun, and killing is starting!

There’s a bear and some coyotes around at this time of year, when we head out just before sunset, but I have loud discussions with the dog about the best optional GURPS rules and supplements, and all the animals run into the woods. GURPS and safety first!

As someone working on the #UE5 Sequencer and other cinematics tech, I am APPALLED by seeing my kid always skip through cut scenes in his new Pokémon game. Have respect for the craft, man!

We have so many internal codenames for various projects at work that, for fun, I invented two new semi-fake codenames and started using them in status updates. Now waiting to see if anybody asks what these are…

Another interesting article from Cory Doctorow about our relation to (new) technology, and the metaphor of the “centaur” vs “reverse-centaur”. It reminds me another similar framing from, I think, the Technology Connections channel, about “automation” vs “babysitting” or something.
