Funny how we (as the english speaking internet in general) pretend like there are some obvious rules about what can be said on social media and who can say it.

Like most of us works somewhere, where are the lines?

I am not saying there aren't any, just that it is a complex stuff...

Recipe books are like open-source for cooking. Imagine if some cake recipes had coca-cola levels of secrecy around them 🙃

Nowadays we have plenty of languages/formats not necessarily used for inter-human comminication.

I wonder what would some alien/far-future anthropologist make up about our culture based, for instance, on random snippet of XML

I don't like how PoE 2 does skill gems. I think you have too little opportunity for experimentation and choices (compared to PoE1, at least in campain).

Please console me by proving me wrong.

"Arcane" artstyle is really great reference for mini painting! It's basically all NMM and layering used in a smart way

That's extremely well put!
Solo game development is like creating a jigsaw puzzle where you have to conceive of what the image on the puzzle will look like and how large it will be and then you have to make every individual piece of the puzzle in a way that they all fit together correctly

I think that in gaming discourse we use the word "addicting" too lightly.

Games should be engaging, not addicting.

I see ot often that various content creators would describe a game as "addicting" as if that is a good thing.

Sure, they most likely mean it in a sense of engaging and flow-inducing.

I highly recommend this hidden-gen of a game:

I'd never try it if not for a youtuber PepperHead. I never explored much of shmup/bullet-hell genre.

This however is boss-rush bullet-hell game wrapped in roguelite mechanics.

Help her heart battle tough bosses in this Boss Rush, Bullet-hell with rogue-like elements. Fight through several randomly chosen boss battles leading up to a final battle. Each defeated monster will ...

I am of the opinion that open-worlds in games, at least when they reach certain size, live and die by their traversal mechanics.

For instance, despite being relatively standard, ubisoft-ish open world, I have great time with Insomniac's Spider-man games.
