Original facial references, done in Clip Studio Paint.

This was a struggle lol, because it was the very first time I managed it draw out his face in any decent way.

(...) nitpicking, and the medium used this way doesn't allow much for mistakes and corrections.

But overall, the result is more than enough, and him looking as young as he does helps give a sense of aging and progression to the entire show. (4)

Secondly, this was the first time I actually managed to get his face revealed in any sense. That was monumental in and of itself, because I was always afraid to make any attempt at it.

I will say it's not 100% accurate to how I facially imagine him, simply because this went through a lot (...) (3)

Lyric. My tragic baby I so endlessly abuse lol.

While I won't comment much more on Lyric in particular, this piece was a step forward in multiple ways I had always done my ink subtractive method on black up to then, so I decided to try a grey base, so I could introduce more pen and ink work. (2)

Here's a Google Drive link if it's more readable in that form:

A link to the mentioned Google Drive folder, if you can't scan the QR code for some reason.

I will say a lot of the content is still (at least potentially) going through edits-- i.e., they aren't absolute final drafts. (5)

(...) as the two elements are inseparable from my perspective. I wanted people to know this show was so much more than "just" the visual story being presented.

I ended up using only the 1st poster, as the college's poster is also vertical. It looked better when the two were displayed together. (3)

The third is just college's standard layout for exhibition posters.

I made the two posters as a means for people to refer to the literary portion of my work on their own; while the visual work can stand alone, connecting it all to the literary aspect was paramount to me, (...) (2)

(...) of that, I ended up with a really neat sea/golden-green effect.

I'd also never done a pet portrait before, and my subtractive method was good at achieving Scully's sort of "fluffiness."

I did good on this, but it makes me miss her, my Queen of Resting Bitch Face. Lol. :P

Sigh.

Just wish it hadn't taken a life event like that to make such a decision.

Anyway.

This is the fourth project made for Drawing V. I wanted to see if I could dye the paper somehow, and change the color of the subtractive marks. Using markers to dye the paper, then blue acrylic ink on top (...) (10)

(...) finally focus on my ideas that I'd been putting off for over a decade.

This was the best thing I'd done for my mental health, like, ever. While I didn't yet have the skill, I could finally put energy towards something I actually _wanted_ to do. And here I am now, graduated with my BFA. (9)

After that, I just couldn't bring myself to give any semblance of a shit about Computer Science.

Life is too damn short to focus on something that doesn't fully captivate me, so I withdrew from the class, and decided to put my full energy towards an art degree-- (8)

Maybe she'd eaten one of my pills, or had a sensitivity to the new food I'd switched my cats to. Regardless, treatment would have cost thousands, and I didn't have that. I had no choice but to put one of the first pets I'd had living by myself down.

I'm no stranger to death, but it hit hard. (7)

began losing a lot of weight. I didn't really notice at first, but she just started hiding a lot and wasn't really eating.

One day, I finally noticed just how bad it'd gotten-- she could barely walk, and her skin had yellowed. I took her to the vet, and learned she had gone into liver failure. (6)

Before I get into this piece, some background information is needed. Before I switched to art, I was technically a computer science student.

Now, I'm not unaware of my own abilities. If I put my mind to something, I can generally learn to do anything-- computer science, business, art, (...) (2)
