Canadian first. Critical metals for the energy transition - development, processing, impacts. Most professional stuff on LI. Also comments on transportation, urban design, and political systems. And other life matters...
Albertan wonders how the government was able to so quickly pass a law to law to force him to serve his students this way.

Public transit between cities - how nice that would be!

I’m with you on tinted windows. Enforcement at the driver and business level required. Why do we allow businesses to install illegal after-market devices?

For the record, the rest of our executive team and HR supported me post-facto. Could have been very uncomfortable but you gotta be honest!

A decade ago I got asked in a town hall how I would deal with a “F her right in the” issue. Crystal clear - they would never work for me again. Can’t put them next to their co-workers ever. Don’t care what it costs. Lots of applause from the women, and some men. What happens outside of work matters.

Don’t confuse council and administration.

Imagine that- transmissible diseases transmit!

Meanwhile in #alberta, we will be remembering when trans people had human rights…

That second chart is wild!

Lord no. It’s just lazy. EdmOntun, EdmUntun I hear, but 59 of my 60 years here suggest it’s not a local thing. Maybe the Edmontonians in Kentucky, UK, or Australia pronounce it differently though (pretty sure the Aussies would based on living there for a year).

I remember when my Dad had his license pulled for poor vision (diabetes consequences). Very glad he decided not to fight it and embraced an outdoor mobility scooter instead. He spent most of a decade living car-free, and would have greatly appreciated proper infrastructure (not just sidewalks).

Indeed, me too. I was thinking of all the existing stuff especially in the suburbs.

My spouse saw a mule deer west of YEG (Lake Isle) that seemed pretty ill. I wasn’t thinking it had got that far yet…

Nov 26 10-11 am. And available to talk CM through the day.

Horrid. Just horrid.

EPS has no interest in enforcing traffic laws. And since they are responsible to the province, not the city, guess why.
November 17, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Raised crossings including speed reducing infrastructure at all MUP/bike lane crossings including intersections and parking lots - or even all pedestrian crossings. Why can’t we have them? If you don’t start you’ll never finish!

My wife kind of enjoys being the pace vehicle in playground zones…

Yeah, BSky needs an agree or support function.
November 17, 2025 at 6:00 PM
I checked and the statistics show about 6% growth total last 3 years. Combine that with big increase in transit ridership and you should have declining to stable vehicle traffic.
